The Construction Of Breakwaters In The Southern Port Project

Our company is proudly involved with the construction of a long and unique breakwaters as part of the new Ashdod South Port, A national project built by a wide range of companies around the world. DAKAR Marine Constructions Ltd. was the subcontractor for the diving projects awarded to the international company PMEC, which carried out the project.

During this significant project unique breakwaters were built with a total length of 2 kilometers and a width of 200 meters, consisting of tens of thousands of massive Antifer Concrete Cubes weighing about 40 tons each. Despite the heavy weight, each Antifer cube was installed by DAKAR divers at its designated point GPS. An amazing accuracy was achieved At the depths of sea, through a constant communication between the diver and the crane operator. The results were nothing less than outstanding.

The construction for the main and secondary breakwaters lasted about 5 years, during which DAKAR divers teams worked enndlessly “around the clock” in shifts of 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and received a lot of accolades for it.
